Turned on tv today and searched for [al franken] and was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the search results.

Go realtime search.

Quite surprising correlation between stubbornness and "success" in later life...

Google autocorrects "yo" to "to" (on the phone, but not always). Is this the reason for the existence of the yo app?

Wow...a big result in complexity theory if its true. For context: graph isomorphism (deciding whether there is a 1-1 mapping between nodes and edges of a graph) is one of the natural problems that are thought to be in between - neither in P nor NP-complete. And this result improves upon the complexity from exponential time to quasipolynomial time.

Interesting piece on the importance of making data available in science. A bug in code can cause incorrect interpretation of data, which in turn can lead to unintended public policy.

Agree with +Amit Singhal 's point of view:

"His belief is that the answers are unlikely to be different just because we are asking them with a phone instead of a computer, and the guts of Google’s search technology, which have been adapted into many new products such as Now on Tap, remain the best at figuring it out."
