What is it with this fascination with 12/12/12?

Yes, you may never see that date ever again in your lifetime but you know what?

I know you're all excited and stuff but you can be excited tomorrow too - you aren't going to see 12/13/12 again either. Same for the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that.

In fact, let's face it, it is probable you will never see any of the dates you see from now on ever again.

"Google just made Apple's WWDC and Microsoft's Surface unveiling look like last decades' news in a little over two hours. They also made Facebook look like your grandma's social network... In just over two hours, Google put all of their rivals on notice that the ground beneath them was about to turn to quicksand, and probably put about 20 separate industries out of business in the process."

To those Republicans who think that our "foreign-born", "Muslim" President is going to lead to the Taliban infiltrating America, consider that this new breed of the Republican Party may not dress like them, look like them, or worship the same god, but their politics are one in the same.

This articles is called "10 Reasons the Rest of the World Thinks the U.S. Is Nuts", and while that is true, it could just as easily be called "10 Reasons the Republicans are like the Taliban."

This is how you don't win the Presidency. This is how you don't even come close.

This is not the American way.

I do not say this in any way to condone or defend rape but why is it that if someone does something stupid in this country, like going on a shooting spree at a school or movie theater, everyone is all like, "dude, that guy was just a crazed lunatic" but when someone gets raped in India everyone is all like, "dude, fuck India"?

Isn't it unfair to attribute the actions of a few depraved individuals to an entire country?

Unless of course we're talking about Nickelback... in which case, fuck Canada.

I called the SPCA today and said, "I've just found a suitcase in the woods containing a fox and her four cubs."

"That's terrible," the woman on the phone replied, "are they moving?"

"I'm not sure, to be honest," I said, "but that would explain the suitcase."

[insert rimshot here]

Being close to election time, there have been many a quibble and associated drama about who your candidate is and why. I'm not going to comment on what I believe because, frankly, it's none of anyone's fucking business (and it's obvious).

But you know what I will do no matter what? I'll go vote. Many people won't for numerous reasons - the most shocking of which is "I live in a [blue / red] state, my vote doesn't matter."

Do you know how many millions if not tens of millions of people think the same way? What if all of you actually got off your lazy, apathetic asses and went and tried to make a difference instead of bitching that you can't?

It's incredibly sad that I actually had to go through an application and interview process to get the right to vote - which I gladly intend to exercise - and many of these same people were born with it nonchalantly shove this inalienable right aside as it is of no consequence.

They simply do not understand - it's not about who wins. Let your voice be heard no matter how small you think it is.

Here's a thought on this Kony business all over the internet:

Christians were so quick to rush to judgment and condemnation of an entire religion because of the acts of a handful of religious extremists in the wake of 9/11. Hell, their outage extended to those not even of that faith but looked as if they did. They complained and wondered why the religious leaders of their faith and their followers didn't speak out and condemn these acts.

By now, everyone knows Kony leads the LRA - that's LORD's Resistance Army - a movement with extreme religious ideaology which seeks to establish a theocratic government based on the ten commandments.

There's this upraor about what he's doing but not a word about why when it's abundantly clear he's doing it in the name of your beliefs, your religion, your god.

Where's your judgment and condemnation now?

The hypocrisy is unfathomable.
