thank you for YouTuPI ... It is a wonderful product and it worked right from your instructions. It is the first time I have had video and sound on my TV from the PI... Please keep up the good work ... and thank you again for your contribution to the community.
Max Tuni: +Markus Winter Please try setting a video quality other than "default". Recently I've noticed the default quality video is causing problems on live streams
Max Tuni: +Markus Winter You got it right, launching it without redirecting to /dev/null (for example: python youtupy.py) should display the stdout of the program.
To play the video a call to youtube-dl is performed (to fetch te actual URL of the youtube video), and then a call to omxplayer. The rest of HTTP request logs aren't usefull for debug, they simply display a bunch of web brower requests to keep update the web UI.
Sometimes Youtube changes things and an update of the youtube-dl is needed in order to get the right URLs. You can test if everything is up to date performing "sudo youtube-dl -U".
You don't need to be logged in for this to work, however I assume you have connected your Pi to a screen using HDMI. If you are using the other video connector maybe we should eliminate the "-o hdmi" option of the omxplayer command.
No problem, please keep me updated, or if something is wrong please raise an issue in the github repo. Thank you for your interest!
