Nextdoor added a new feature to tag local business recommendations. Good reason for biz owners to get the app and join their neighborhood.

YP Integrates BBB Data from 1.3M Local Businesses
http://www.lsainsider.com/yp-integrates-bbb-data-from-1-3m-local-businesses
Yesterday YP announced that they have integrated Better Business Bureau (BBB) ratings within business listings on yp.com and the YP App. The ratings will only be shown for businesses rated “A” or “A+” by the BBB, and users can narrow searches by these top-rated businesses. The move helps differen

Google Reviews Just Got Easier – G+ No Longer Required https://www.getfivestars.com/blog/google-reviews-just-got-easier-g-no-longer-required/ by +Mike Blumenthal
It would appear that Google is now allowing users with just a Google account to leave a review. The account can be either gmail or non gmail based. The only requirement being that they also leave use a first and last name but the requirement to have a full G+ account…

A Google patent application tells us we could outline an object in a photo, and Google Glass would then search for that object.

How to get your WordPress site on AMP and Facebook Instant in 15 minutes.
http://www.greenlaneseo.com/blog/2016/04/set-up-wordpress-amp-facebook-instant-15-minutes/
TL;DR go install PageFrog right now. It’s free, and totally baller. Why WordPress AMP and Facebook Instant Matters You’ve probably seen it by now. Articles in Google search sometimes come with a fancy carousel at the top of the mobile results page, with a nifty little AMP icon. On some Facebook articles in your mobile feed, [...]

I do web design but I'm not a graphic designer. This guide helps a ton!
Used some (not all) of these steps in the guide before but discretely. Example - using Dribbble to find a good starting color (and supplementary color too sometimes).

The guide summarizes it all nicely and helps me do the part that I'm not good at better and my projects more organized.

A Simple Web Developer’s Guide To Color
https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2016/04/web-developer-guide-color/

In this article, you won’t see a single color wheel. Instead it shows you a simple color selection workflow that you can use in your next web project.

Did your Google My Business verification postcard end up in the wrong neighborhood? (goo.gl/S6DEks). Yesterday I did a consultation for a guy whose client – an HVAC contractor – had a problem with duplicate Google pages. Just two pages – one for each office location. Each location served mostly ...

Very "entertaining" read about Hubspot...

Is this a summary of every hipster marketing and tech company out there?

Interesting.

I think location is probably irrelevant for a significant number of commercial intent searches (e.g. television prices).

Seems like this is something that's easy for Google to test. Throw in some local results and measure the clicks.

While super hard-working, M&M Junk Removal is such a personal and flexible business to work with! Martin didn't make me feel the weight of cut-and-dried service and standard cost. Instead, he went extra mile to get work done and adjusted to my specific situation. I really appreciated that! This isn't just another trash removal truck. Business is closely tied to Martin's personality. Highly recommended service! Wishing all the best to him and his business!

Best donuts in town! I love that place! Either getting them on Sunday afternoon or sitting down in the late evening - one of few places open in Auburn after 10. Better get donuts early though - they often sell out. But, unlike Safeway, they make fresh donuts during the day, not just in the morning.

Wish I had coffee shop like this within 5 min drive from my house! My wife and I took a random drive to Burien and West Seattle and ended up here based on my friend's recommendation. Glad we did. Great barista! Trying to figure out what we wanted and seeing others order before and after us - barista knew locals and what they wanted, was super polite, asked about our day, etc. Then we just enjoyed our time there. Nice house! Relaxed atmosphere. Inside and outside seating. Great for chats, great for quietly working on a project on your laptop (free Wi-Fi), great for business chats/interviews. I'd have local business meet up here (and they offer that as an option) instead of boring office space or rental room . Great coffee! Highly recommended!

Wow! Great food & experience! Too bad I didn't visit here before - it's next door but I prejudged because restaurants were in and out every year at this location in my neighborhood. I guess I didn't want to attach to another fly-by-night business here. But this is not one of those. Exceptional service, clean & comfortable interior and great, authentic food. Totally worth a quick lunch break or visit with the family. I'll certainly be back!

Enjoyed a few chats here with local friends. Comfy and cool coffee house during hot summer days. Great place to get loaded with caffeine and read, work on a project, chat with a friend or have a meeting (all business meetings should be in places like these rather than boring office meeting rooms). Personnel was super sweet and responsive both times I was there. Made a great suggestion when I needed one. Their pies are great! Will certainly stop by here when I'm back in town!

First impression was - what is this nice Italian restaurant doing in the middle of nowhere (in a good way)?: no city center, not a huge intersection, in the middle of the residential area. Beautiful view on the lake and mountain Rainier on the clear sky day. Amazing experience. They have local musicians on Saturday evenings. Very loyal customer base too - my wife and I were there about 10 times now and I saw same groups of people there a few times. There's absolutely no question I'd go here instead of mainstream "Italian" restaurants (I'm looking at you, Olive G.; we never went back to mainstream after visiting Al Lago). Fantastic customer service! Great food & its selection! I can't even name my favorite - I tried most dishes by now and don't have 1-2 favorites anymore. Not a single time that we weren't happy with our dining experience here. We choose to drive extra 10 minutes up to Bonney Lake to visit the place. Well worth it!
