POLYGAMY IS NOT ALLOWED FOR THE RE-GATHERED HEBREWS
Engaging in such acts shows those doing so do not really understand what it means to be Hebrew.
Many black people hear they are Hebrews and get all excited and get carried away just by the thought of being descendants of those who founded the World's civilisation. Even so, most have not the faintest idea what it means to be a Hebrew. The fact some advocate Polygamy as acceptable lifestyle is testimony that these have no clue to the meaning of being a Hebrew.
So what does it mean to be Hebrew?
Being a Hebrew is defined by the covenant at Mount Sinai between the Israelites and the Almighty.
Abraham the ancestor of the Hebrews had other children but what separated them from the Hebrews was the covenant at Mount Sinai.
And what was the terms of the covenant? It stipulated that the Hebrews were to become ministers and priests of the most high.
"you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites." Exodus 19:6
Please take note of this. This is what it means to be a Hebrew. A Hebrew is supposed to be a minister and priest of the most high. That was the covenant and it is what separates the Hebrews and makes them distinct from Abraham's other descendants - read Romans 9:4, also Psalm 147:19. Thus the Hebrew is someone who is descended of those ancestors who made the covenant with God to be his Priests and Holy people at Mt Sinai.
The Israelites understood what it meant to be a Hebrew and repeated it throughout the Bible.
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9
"And has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen." Revelation 1:6
"You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." Revelation 5:10
"You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:5
We know from scripture that the Hebrews broke the covenant and as punishment, God scattered them to the four corners of the earth. The Bible goes on to tell us that in the end days, God will re-gather the Hebrews and restore them as his chosen people.
But the question is why are they to be gathered back as God's people? Why the special treatment? The answer is because the gathering back of the Hebrews coincides with the restoration of God's kingdom on Earth, (Acts 1:6). Therefore the Hebrews have to be gathered back to take up their role as the Priests and Ministers that govern the Earth on God's behalf.
In case you do not understand what is meant by the kingdom God; it means the restoration of what Adam and Eve lost in the garden of Eden.
In this restored Kingdom of God, the Hebrews play the key role. They take up their position as priests and ministers of the most high to govern mankind. God himself is not going to be governing the Earth on a day to day basis, that job is for the Hebrews.
Now I want you to search through the entire Bible and see if you can find anywhere that a priest of God had more than one wife. I can assure you you will never find any priest of God with more than one wife. The Hebrews as priests and ministers of the most high are in the category that are not allowed to have more than one wife. To leave no room for doubt this stipulation is made clear in Scripture.
"The bishop therefore must be without reproach, the husband of ONE wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, given to hospitality, apt to teach;.......... 12 Let deacons be husbands of ONE wife, ruling their children and their own houses well." 1 Tim. 3: 2.
As priests and Ministers of God, this leadership role is is the category the re-gathered Hebrews come under. A category that stipulates one man, ONE wife and no more.
As you can see from the write up, the definition or understanding of what it means to be a Hebrew gathered back from exile, rules out any idea of Polygamy. Engaging in such acts shows those doing so don't know what it means to be a Hebrew, period.
