My wife and I just enjoyed our 1-Year Anniversary at the Mauna Lani Bay Resort and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The people are all incredibly helpful and friendly, the amenities are exceptional... the atmosphere is perfect.

We had a great time snorkeling, walking around the Historic Park, learning from their Cultural Center, enjoying their wonderful garden... I can't say enough. This place is amazing and we will be coming back!!!

"Lighting in the bathroom was just OK and the interior hallways were depressing."

We loved this place – we absolutely recommend it. Open design with a jungle inside – turtle and the shark ponds – tropical fish everywhere. Our four-year-old son loved it and so did we. Fascinating grounds to explore with ancient Hawaiian fish ponds (Full of big fish) and a couple of small islands to climb on. Rooms were great – and very private balconies at night. We really liked how there is not much ambient light at night – each balcony does not have its own bright light. Makes for beautiful night time hikes and stargazing once your eyes adjust. Large pool and three hot tubs. All maintained well. Tasteful Hawaiian music almost every night. Really nicely done.

You know you are at a good hotel when they have turtles in a giant indoor pond.....so they say. The Mauna Lani is a great hotel with easy beach access with showers. They also have a pool and three Jacuzzis that are open all day. I enjoyed the paddle board rentals and easy, but stunning snorkeling that the beach has to offer. The rooms are very nice with comfortable beds and a TV that I actually, never got to use...and the rooms are also outfitted with a toto brand Japanese bidee toilet. I actually found (after six uses) it kind of unpleasant, but it's just a matter of opinion. There is also a nice hike to take where you can see the fish ponds and strange fish that jump out of the water and freak out tourists. If I had to make a pros and cons list, and I am going to, I would say that the pros of the Mauna Lani are the comfortable rooms and nice scenery and snorkeling at their beach. They also have a FANTASTIC crab buffet that is available one of the nights. And the cons are that the hotel doesn't have a place for breakfast except for a little coffee shop that serves expensive food. I didn't get to eat at any of the restaurants because there were no inexpensive options. If you are fine with getting a yogurt and a coffee for 10 dollars then go right ahead. Also, the people at the pool will make noise at night and it may be best to angle your room away from that. Also the elevators are hard to get to because they are in these weird supply closet kind of things. Overall great hotel and make sure you make it to the crab feast!

Nice hotel but it is dated and needs renovation. If you are expecting a 4 star hotel you WILL be disappointed. This would be a nice place to stay if your Hawaiian islands vacation included other islands with other NICER hotels after.

We snorkel here often, really nice beach and wonderful coral and fish. Resort grounds are beautifully maintained. We have stayed at the resort many times over the past 4 years, every time was wonderful. Excellent service, fantastic staff, quiet and feels off the beaten track. It does not have the over crazed feeling of many resorts but rather calm and soothing.

my husband and i stayed here a week in october 2016. It is the BEST HOTEL we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. From its concientious helpful staff to beautiful well stocked and comfortable rooms, this was a place we could totally let go. I am a smoker and since they provided such lovely smoking areas cannot complain there. there was not a need that was not met. constant available room service and any amenity you could think of, from the soft provided cushy robe and slippers to the phenomenal view. our room while not a suite may as well have been. they gave me an immediate upgrade as an iprefered member (easy to get). 24 hours of bliss everyday. leaders in conservation of both the fish and game as well as cultural centers of the island. on site we rode bikes to ancient runes in the forest and explored the many fishing ponds and paths they offered. the pool and tubs were open all night. the cabanas always available along with snorkeling gear, surf equipment and boards. all stations were always manned and stocked. the employees were quick to offer local advice and seemed super happy to be there. they guided us through many activities of the island. Boy did we luck out, what a GREAT choice that hotel was.

Awful customer service and experience. No one cares about an incident I had. I had to contact them to report it hours later even though multiple employees witnessed it. I had to call multiple times to get anything taken care of while on property. Trip was ruined. I reached out via email when I returned home and it took about 10 days to get any kind of reply. I tried to remain nice and professional but they lacked any remorse or courtesy. VERY disappointed and would not reccomend to anyone. They simply do not care about their guests and experience.
