The pattern will break down once you get past 8192, which is 2^13. That means that the pattern continues for an impressive 52 significant figures (well, it actually breaks down on the 52nd digit, which will be a 3 instead of a 2). The reason it works is that 9998 = 10^4 - 2. You can expand as ...

I agree of course :) It's pretty neat until 2^13, though.

Wirklich interessanter Artikel. Bin gespannt wie er sich in Zukunft weiterentwickelt. Ob wir eine Rückbauung der Straßen erleben?

Silicon Valley liberalism vs. European socialism
I live in Germany and i am happy that some things are more regulated here. I like that Taxi companies need to have extra insurance and the cars and drivers are checked on a regular basis. Just like the TÜV (a mandatory checkup every two years for every vehicle) makes sure all vehicles have ...

I wrote 99% of my master thesis in markdown (50 pages w/o interviews). 1) I didn't have a lot of images so i just wrote FIXME: Image Foo.png where they belonged. 2) I wrote my Citations Plain in there (e.g. Wocken, 1985, 7 ff.) ...

An unorthodox take on the current state of society and the media in the wake of spying, corruption and other scandals leading to increasing inequality. The author compares it to similar developments at the beginning of 20th century America.

Well worth a read.
What the Fluck! The point at which journalism fails and modern power begins.
