My dog needs a walk

An interesting video. I don't fully agree with it, and it focuses on the wrong problems, but it's very well done.

Pool should be ready for summer now that we have the new pump installed and can use the automatic cleaner finally.

I posted this in reply to Ezra Klein's recent nonsensical article..

I noticed something. The taxes you mentioned kept going up, and why? Because the government kept printing money and making the value of the taxes paid worth less. So even then taxes weren't "high enough" and monetization of the government's additional expenditures was necessary.

The truth is not that taxes are "too low" but that they are hidden by the costs of inflation of the money supply, which leads to malinvestment, overconsumption, and delays the liquidation of inefficient businesses that are pursuing activities that would otherwise be revealed to be wealth-destructive.

Zombie-banks and zombie-businesses are staying propped up by cheap credit while we pay money to the big banks to prevent them from loaning out too much of the excessive reserves we created to save them from their own incompetence.

This problem cannot be fixed by more taxation because we are literally "taxed enough already" when you factor in the cost of inflation. Those among the wealthy who earn only due to Fed grants or TARP or what-not deserve to lose, but taxation won't take the money back just from those who got their money due to being in bed with the state. Rather, it will simply provide further means for the state to misdirect funds towards wealth-destructive ventures that are run by their buddies in the revolving door between the state and well-connected corporations.

I thought for those who didn't know about Portal that the other share probably wouldn't be as interesting. It's a fantastic game and the ME song is a parody of this song at the end of Portal.

Not usually fooled by parody, that's what I get, lol.
