Always love the way flames look when captured using the right settings. Actually, to be 100% honest, I just love fire because I'm a pyro. But when licks of fire start to resemble liquid then I can't help but think of Yin and Yang -- Good and Evil -- polar opposites that resemble each other in so many ways. One gives life and the other takes it, yet both are necessary for the natural progression of things. ... In short, I frickin' love fire! Well, and water of course for obvious reasons. =)

This may not be a landscape photograph by the books, but there's enough of a vista to qualify it for me. And hey, it's my collection and I can do what I want with it. 😄 Anyway, on to the picture...

This is one of my favorite photos from the recent engagement shoot I did for my brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law. Couldn't have asked for more beautiful scenery.

Camera: EOS 6D
Lens: E24-70mm ƒ2.8L IS USM
Focal Length: 24mm
Shutter Speed: 1/500 sec
Aperture: ƒ/5.6
ISO: 1000

This has got to be one of the funniest videos I've ever captured, and on a cell phone of all things. ... My brothers, Dad, and I went off the grid in Oregon for a week to celebrate my youngest brother's bachelor party. We stayed at the Congo Gulch cabin, which is a part of the Fremont Powerhouse in Northeast Oregon. Anyway, we made friends with the local chipmunk population and this is a slow motion video of one of them (nicknamed Fat Face) stuffing her face full of nuts. I seriously can't stop watching this. So cute!

My soon to be sister-in-law on the Oregon coast for an engagement shoot.

I was really concerned about this shoot because the weather forecast of a "chance of light rain" turned out to be heavy showers almost the entire time I was there. However, we lucked out and the skies cleared just in time for us to have some awesomely dramatic scenery for the backdrop. Good thing it did because it would've been gloom and doom otherwise.

Camera: EOS 6D
Lens: E24-70mm ƒ2.8L IS USM
Focal Length: 40mm
Shutter Speed: 1/2000 sec
Aperture: ƒ/5.6
ISO: 1000

Painting with a Camera...

This photo was captured at Skyspace LA, which is roughly 1000 feet above downtown LA. I used a long exposure and rotated my camera in small circles to get the look.

Focal Length: 24mm
Shutter Speed: 30 sec
