Without going into too many details, took a new position with a larger company. In my office they had all the nice shiny new equipment, as one would expect, however in the corner was this dinosaur.
You guess it an iMac circa 2000 if I am to believe the company stickers on it. I was of course doubtful this had an OS on it, let alone would boot up, however I had to try. So scrounged up a power cable, ethernet cable, mouse, and keyboard and crossed my fingers. To my utter amazement the apple splash screen popped right up and then that
horrid LOVELY chime rang at full volume. Login screen showed right up with previous user, who I had no clue who was, so I recent the Apple Setup and created a new user.
I have to say this thing runs exactly as you would expect for an astonishing 400Mhz PowerPC G3 with a whopping 576 MB SDRAM.
Now I don't have a clue what to do with it besides having a conversation piece.
