These are some exciting updates to Hangouts that will definitely help people communicate more easily.
#Hangouts helps you get things done, face to face
Based on your feedback, we’re always working on ways to improve your Hangouts experience. Today, we’ve got some updates to help make your face to face meetings more open, collaborative and efficient.

Adding attendees more efficiently. Getting lots of attendees into the same meeting can be challenging if they belong to different organizations. Starting later today, if you’re a Google Apps for work customer, you can just send the Hangout video call URL to your attendees and as long as they have a Google account (work or personal) they can join. Find out how to get started:

Easier to show what’s on your screen. Presenting to a large group? When using the screenshare app in Hangouts, you can now present to everyone in the meeting. No one needs to search for the right tiny screen to click on — presenters can now make their screen front and center for everybody, automatically. Learn more:

Reducing ambient noise. When you’re in a video call, keyboard noise and other background sounds shouldn’t get in the way of your conversation. We’ve improved our ambient noise filters so now, instead of muting you entirely when you’re typing, we’ll detect the key clicks and only filter those out.

Enjoy better video calls with your teammates, clients and partners with Hangouts.

Hangouts now run natively in Chrome, no downloads!
Hey friends! I'm so excited to finally share with you what I and many others have been working on tirelessly to release:

Hangouts in an instant: Video chat without downloading a plugin

Starting today, we're rolling out an update that makes it easier than ever to start Hangouts video calls with your family and friends! You'll now be able to launch Hangouts in Chrome without having to download and install a plugin. Just click to start the Hangout, allow Hangouts to use your camera and microphone, and you’ll be good to go!

This update is now available for all Chrome Dev and Canary users, and will be rolling out to all Chrome users over the next few weeks. If you've been meaning to connect face to face with your loved ones near and far, give it a try and get going with just a few clicks!

Exciting new live engagement for broadcasted Hangouts.
Live Q&A for Hangouts On Air: interact with all your viewers

With Hangouts On Air, you can take a group video call and broadcast it to the world. And we've seen everything from concerts to political debates to online classes share their conversations 'On Air.' What's been missing, however, is a way to interact with your live audience (vs. only the people onscreen). Not any more.

Today we're introducing Live Q&A for Hangouts On Air — the first of many features to help you engage with your viewers. If you’re hosting the broadcast, you'll now be able to:

- Solicit questions from up to a million concurrent viewers
- Select and answer questions live
- Timestamp the YouTube recording by marking questions as you answer them

If instead you're watching the Hangout On Air, you'll now be able to ask and vote on questions live, as well as replay the Q&A even after the broadcast is over.

We're rolling out Live Q&A over the next few days (fully on desktop, view-only on Android), so look for the new features the next time you start or watch a Hangout On Air. In the meantime, you can check out these examples to see how Live Q&A can enhance your broadcasts:

- Art and Inquiry by +MoMA Edu:
- Live Car Talk by +Scotty Kilmer:
- Sony vs. Nikon by +Trey Ratcliff:

Keep the feedback coming, and keep those broadcasts going!

Hangouts now in HD

hangout face to face to face in HD

connect with friends and family in high res with hd hangouts! we are rolling hd out to hangouts on air initially, then to all desktop hangout video calls over the next few weeks.

hd hangouts require an hd-capable webcam, more bandwidth and more processing power than standard definition. so if your computer and network are capable, turn the quality up to hd!
