The websites and apps I use to book travel.
When I started traveling in 2006, getting online meant you had to find an Internet café and spend a lot of money. Few hostels had computers, none had wi-fi, and there were no smartphones. Information was a lot harder to find. Over the years, as it has improved, technology has made traveling a lot easier…

Traveling the world, avoiding the cubicle, and teaching other how to do the same.

I run the award winning budget travel site, Nomadic Matt. I got the travel bug after a trip to Costa Rica in 2004 and after a trip to Thailand the following year, I decided to quit my job, finish my MBA and head off into the world. My original trip was supposed to last a year but I am still going. I learned to scuba dive in Fiji, was a poker player in Amsterdam, taught English in Thailand, got lost in a jungle in Central America and broke down in the middle of Australia's outback.

I focus on helping people save money on traveling and making their dream trip become a reality. I write a lot on Europe travel tips, backpacking, and Southeast Asia.

My advice has been featured in The New York Times, CNN, The Guardian UK, Lifehacker, Budget Travel, BBC, Yahoo! Finance and countless other magazines.
