This description is just dripping with class:

"Key attractions within a quarter mile - besides the 100-store outlet mall - are the Miami Valley Gaming racino and two of the region's largest flea markets, which combined attracts more than 1.6 million customers annually.

The Monroe interchange is unique in the region for its eclectic mix of businesses and institutions. Within one square mile sits a mega church featuring the nation's second-tallest Jesus statue, a large Hustler Hollywood adult store and one of Ohio's largest prisons."
Monroe's popular interchange will soon feature its first sit-down restaurants and bars.

Haven't read it but it looks interesting and very relevant to us personally.
It's no secret that we are broke. I'm careful not to use the word "poor", not just because I think there's a lot more than money involved in a rich life, but because I had a teacher once explain to...

Parents 1st yes, catechists 2nd yes, but ... This article needs to also discuss the child, who is the receiver of probably not the perfect transmission of faith but nonetheless is responsible in their own right... Read "What to do When a Loved One Leaves the Church" (book). We often seek to place blame on the very people providing at least a hint of hope and faith transmission... Why not build them up instead of cannibalizing each other and lifting our hands like there isnt a God up there who knows each of us intimately and the meaning of path we'll take even if on the outside it seems the person has "lost the faith". Also, and it took me a while to see this for myself in my family: children become adults and adults make their own choices!! Stop (entirely) blaming the faith senders! The article completely ignores this. If there is a "hero" element of this topic then at least call that hero Christ and trust that hero to reach even those fallen away, and then: pray for those passing on the faith so that somewhere someone will reach that child, adolescent, adult...

Great article on how #Relativism and nonjudgmentalism have grown since the 60's, eroding #family and #morals

"The health of society is primarily determined by the habits and virtues of its citizens. In many parts of America there are no minimally agreed upon standards for what it means to be a father. There are no basic codes and rules woven into daily life, which people can absorb unconsciously and follow automatically.

Reintroducing norms will require, first, a moral vocabulary. These norms weren’t destroyed because of people with bad values. They were destroyed by a plague of nonjudgmentalism, which refused to assert that one way of behaving was better than another. People got out of the habit of setting standards or understanding how they were set."
