What sort of groupings do fiddles come in: packs? prides? pods? Anyhow, these are headed to Warsaw!

Hopefully it's not a murder of fiddles.

Slab sawn cherry back of a five-string fiddle on a Dutch tilt. Lots of compounds!

One of fiddles has spontaneously reproduced a la Jurassic Park in this clever video. A fiddle, like life, finds a way :)

Thanks for the reply. The name of Colichon went to my mind, but in absence of any solid reference, I refrained from speculating. The difference in size between the Betrand and the Jaye is hard to spot from the mold alone.

I can imagine that working at the same time on these three models, with their differences in tradition (two French and one English), is an interesting endeavour!

Introduction
I'm a luthier specializing in bowed instruments from the Middle Ages to the Baroque--fiddles, violas da gamba, the violin family, as well as Polish folk instruments like the suka biłgorajska.

I was featured in the first issue of Tempus Musicum, (the first digital magazine for Early Music), and more recently in the newsletter of the Viola da Gamba Society of Great Britain, 'The Viol.'
