Hey, +vipin k. So, the team is willing to consider a remote person. It looks like the position hasn't been posted publicly yet, so if you'd like to apply, then drop me a copy of your resume and contact information to matthewcolf AT quickenloans DOT com and I'll put you in touch with our hiring team.

Looking for a couple senior level developers (JS & .NET) to join my team at Quicken Loans. We're a technically diverse and driven team that sets many of our own priorities and focuses on R&D, evaluation of new technologies, complex integrations, internal tools/libraries, standards development, and technical leadership for other development teams. Seat warmers need not apply – we need developers who can actively participate, aren't afraid to try out new things, and who can be good advocates for their areas of expertise. If this sounds like a position you would be interested in, then get in touch and we can chat.

Finally got the details on the upcoming hiring we're doing for new project teams at QL. We're putting together teams to work on two new major applications that will be ground up rewrites of their existing counterparts. Looking for software engineers (Erlang or C#/.Net), QA, BA, and team leaders. Have an interest in highly concurrent and fault tolerant development and looking for a chance to work at QL? Let me know and I'll provide additional details and forward your information to our hiring team.

Spinning up a new project team at QL soon. Don't have all the details yet, but we'll probably be hiring ~70 full time BA, QA, UI, and development people. Drop me a line if you're interested and I'll follow up with details.

Attended a conference here recently. Building amenities are pretty standard - small but nice pool, fitness center, bar, and a decent restaurant. The hotel room was well taken care of and clean. Conference rooms are well laid out, clean, and well maintained. There are several much larger rooms that can be separated into smaller ones as needed. The separator walls do only a decent job of suppressing noise from other adjacent rooms. Parking was tight. Granted, the hotel was booked 100% full for the conference, but it would have been nice to have another overflow parking area. What really set this hotel apart was the service - the event staff did a great job flipping room layouts quickly, answering questions, and resolving lighting and environment problems. The hotel and restaurant staff also did a great job - all problems encountered were resolved quickly. The entire staff seemed happy to have our group there for the weekend.

Stopped by to get a couple pairs of jeans repaired. He did the work right then and had them ready for me in under 10 minutes. For a reasonable price as well. Will certainly be coming back here for my clothing alteration and repair needs in the future.

Slow! Amazingly slow. The smoothies are, for the most part, pretty good. However, the wait is unbelievable. Came in when the place was empty and I ordered a single smoothie. Sat down to wait. A line of 12 people cam in after my order was in. They proceeded to prepare sandwiches and smoothies for all of those people before helping me. Waited a grand total of 35 minutes for a single smoothie.

Food was 'ok' at best. Service was horrible - rude, and not helpful at all. Didn't even bring drinks to the table. Would not go here again.

Very good pizza. It was a bit floppy - would have liked it slightly more crisp. Still, great flavor. Quick delivery times (25 minutes) - half of most places.

Definitely in the middle of nowhere. However, it's a quick 10 minute drive from the University of Michigan's north campus - plenty close enough for a quick lunch. I stopped by there for lunch today and got the trio (pork, chicken, brisket) of sandwiches - all of which were very good. Good prices as well. One note - there's only one table in the place, so plan to squeeze in there, sit outside, or order takeout. UPDATE: Went back and got the ribs - absolutely fabulous.
