I'm always excited when people find Satellite Beach. It's an older comic of mine that not too many people see these days, but I'm still proud of it.

I am on the lookout for good comics on the web these days. If you know of any, if you got stuff to recommend, please let me know...

Here is something I found recently. It's short, but I think this is a little gem. It's made by a guy named +Matthew Bogart
Find some more of his stuff here: http://www.matthewbogart.net/comics/ and if you like what you see, maybe consider this http://www.patreon.com/matthewbogart

The Chairs' Hiatus Giveaway
To celebrate the release of my graphic novel The Chairs' Hiatus on ComiXology (http://bit.ly/19hDN6j) I've decided to do my first ever contest!

On December 19th I'm going to randomly pick 5 people out of everyone who is signed up for my mailing list. Two of them are going to get a free copy of the ComiXology version of the book and three of them will get the print version mailed to their house for free. The print versions will be signed with a sketch inside.

If you win I can sign it to  anyone else you like if you want to give it away as a Christmas present. I'd be flattered!

To be honest, the number of folks on my mailing list is pretty slim so your chances are pretty good!

Sign up here. http://bit.ly/1bIQtnn

I swear, the support you guys have shown me has been amazing. I hope to do stuff like this more often to say thanks. You guys are the best!

It seemed to go well. I'd never been to a con so large and I learned some valuable lessons. I got to meet some heroes and made a couple friends.

I bought the "Pencil" by 53 to try out because it had a 30 day money back guarantee. It arrived 28 days after I ordered it.

Private Files of the Fowl: Fingernail Cuts
http://thecommitteebuilding.tumblr.com/post/66357474866/start-at-the-beginning-of-segment-14-start-at-the

Today, I’m excited to announce that the first couple pages of a project I’ve been working on for the last several months have gone up.

Months ago, the very kind and amazingly talented, Jesse Snavlin and Dan Schkade contacted me about doing some work for them. They had been plugging away on an excellent series about characters they’d created named The Fowl and Madeline Cross. They had amassed quite a body of work around them and wanted me to draw a story they were writing centered around Cross and her sisters.

It was an exciting and nerve-wracking idea! I’d never drawn a comic that I didn’t write, never done work for hire comics before, and the subject matter was so different from the kind of things I normally come up with. Although I had, and have, a lot on my plate with my next book, they were willing to give me extremely generous deadlines. (Like I said, they are so kind.) So, for the past several months I’ve been sneaking pages of this story in between the schedule I’d created for myself for "Oh, It’s the End of the World."1

I’ve had to keep it a secret until now, which was also a learning experience for me, but the first and second pages of the story are now up! Go take a look, read the great recap of what’s been going on in the story so far, and subscribe to The Committee Building tumblr where these are being posted. Those folks are doing some beautiful work.

1:I’m making progress on “Oh, It’s the End of the World”. The script for the last part of the book is coming along. I’m eager to get back to drawing pages, but I have to nail everything down first.

The last few times I've been in there the staff has been rude. Also they keep *all* of their books in bags so you can't flip thru anything to see if it's worth your money.

The main positive thing that I have to say about this hotel as that the clerk at the front desk was very nice. He did his best to make up for the shortcomings of the hotel and seemed like he genuinely wanted to make our stay pleasant. That's great and goes a long way, but there were still issues. The drawbacks were that the rooms were very small, the bed was surprisingly uncomfortable (and I usually expect a hotel bed to be somewhat uncomfortable) the street noise even with the windows closed was substantial. Which is unfortunate because without air conditioning you really want the windows to be open. Taking a shower is like being sandblasted. In order to make the water warm enough you have to turn the shower pressure all the way up and since the shower is so small it really knocks you up against the back wall of the water closet. The Wi-Fi in the building was terrible. Getting directions, checking e-mail, etc. all took three times as long as it should due to the connection dropping. We ruled out that it was a problem with our computer since we had the same issue on my laptop, my girlfriend's laptop, and my iPad. As we had important information stored in our e-mail about the itinerary of our trip I went downstairs and talked to the front desk clerk who kindly offered to allow us to connect via ethernet cable to the Internet in his private office. So that was nice. It's also fun being in Chinatown even though it contributed to the street noise.

We had a great time staying here. We arrived too late to swim in the pool or Jacuzzi was open until 10 o'clock And that was iron and ironing board a lot of fun. The rooms were large with a microwave, desk to work at, coffeepot, iron and ironing board, as well as a sink outside of the bathroom so that people can get ready while someone else is in the bathroom. The continental breakfast was surprisingly good! There was a waffle maker with regular and strawberry batter, scrambled eggs various cereals, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, orange juice, apple juice, as well as English muffins, and more I'm sure I'm forgetting. the Wi-Fi seems to work fine as I'm posting this from the hotel. The one drawback is that there isn't a lot of selection for food in the area. The hotel is apparently so your only selection is what's a little off the beaten path So you're only selection is what's nearby, and that's mostly fast food.
