How big is Africa really? Much bigger than it looks on most maps which use the Mercator projection. In 2010, we plotted a map of Africa using Gall's Stereographic Cylindrical Projection (1855), which gives a truer indication of the continent's size compared to others http://econ.st/1GjCoIU #econarchive (2010)
