Shame you can't spend more than a day and go to El Yunque, the rain forest.   I want to die there (just not soon)....lol  What an absolutely peaceful place to be.

Been off the grid a little for the past 3 weeks. Working on the ships at the moment. I'm now a Brand Ambassador for Kallati, a fine jewelry company. Basically going from ship to ship to promote, train and sell fine jewelry. Loving it :) Just heading out to cruise on Holland America's Eurodam for a week. Not missing NYC yet!

#HalfMoonCay is a small private Island owned by Carnival in the Bahamas. It's mostly a destination for #HollandAmerica ships. The ship sets up a BBQ for the passengers. Horse riding and other water sports are there. I decided to take a walk off the beaten path and this is what I discovered.

No, only Matt :)

It's been a while since I did seminars and I can get a little nervous doing them. I'm getting better. Friends have suggested all sorts, including imagining the audience naked. I'm a Brand Ambassador for a fine jewelry company that is focusing on cruise ships. The next cruise has been chartered out by 2000 naturalists. Time to see if that trick works. #NudeCruise #HollandAmerica

Apparently formal night is quite the event. Bow ties where they aren't normally worn. Lots of swingers

I forgot it was an hour forward last night. That means I've been up since 4am. No biggie, it meant I have most of the ship to myself and the view whilst having my coffee is rather nice (currently 7am location about 4 hours from San Juan, Puerto Rico on Holland America Eurodam)

Yep, it's a bridge. A good looking one at that. Lots of tourists. I had the best pizza in my life at a restaurant just off the exit to this bridge. Not sure which side now, but it fizzled on my tongue and made me cry. I know this review is all about the bridge, but seriously, the pizza was that awesome!

Nice hotel overlooking the lake at the base of Bear Mountain (the two hotels are the same, though the one I stayed in was Overlook Inn). Very friendly staff. Priced reasonably well. Have only stayed on nights when I have got lost and missed the bus back to NYC, which unfortunately has happened on more than one occasion :). Only negative is that the soundproofing isn't so good. Walls are thin, and they need to go oil the door hinges as all three times I have been there, when the cleaners are doing their thing, the doors squeaking become very irritating. Would stay there again though.

Bar is friendly and has a decent selection of drinks (22 on tap). Food is normally good though the last couple of times the quality has been way below (both times it was the poor quality of steak). Can get very crowded which can't be helped, means it's a well liked bar.

Your typical Brooklyn style interior. All reclaimed wood and chalk board. It is clean and lady taking my order was very pleasant. They had public WiFi and seating for 8 people. I had a Brooklyn Roasting Company coffee and a Roasted Chicken w/Buttermilk Gravy Pot Pie ($15 total). The pie was better than expected and I expected it to be really good. Not overly salted crust like you get in a lot of bakeries. The chicken was juicy and the gravy was just the right amount of sweet, though my personal preference is for a thicker gravy, though the flavor was excellent. Another nice feature of this small pie shop is that you can see the pies being made. It's all out there in the open, whilst not uncommon, it's nice to see. I think they have nailed the pricing. They are just towards the higher end of reasonable, but then Greenpoint has come a long way in the last few years. It was worth the long walk from Clinton Hill. Will be stopping by this place whenever I'm in the area.

It's big, easy to get to. It has a Zoo and a Botanical Garden attached to it. There are free concerts throughout the summer. The list goes on.
