I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews on Google and elsewhere. We (wife, 3 year old, and I) stayed at the motel for 2 nights. It's not modernized, but it was neat and clean. It's mom and pop for sure. Then again we're not picky about hotels (but would be if the place was a unclean). We've eaten at the restaurant in the past, and each time was absolutely great. We're pickier in the food department... We'll definitely come back next time we're "out east."
