Interesting dilemma presented by +niel vuolo, how do help our kids learn about real heroes in a developmentally appropriate way?
By Niel Vuolo NYC Dads Group My daughter had to do project for Women's History Month recently. She had to choose a famous woman, find some facts about her, get a picture of her, and bring in supplies to make a paper doll of h...

Fun post from SF Dads Group Organizer +Beau Coffron about the 9 ways dinnertime has changed in house since he had kids,  "4. Chicken nuggets are a food group. You try and make balanced meals, but honestly many parents always keep nuggets in their freezer for backup. Nuggets are like the first-aid kit of the kitchen."

+Satyan Sharma reframes #TheHungerGames  as a story about #parenting , "Upon being shot into the arena, my wife and I immediately charged the cornucopia for a survival kit. We noticed District 5 and 2 had partnered for the time being, and soon cornered us in a remote cave where they kept us pinned for what seemed like an eternity."

+Jason Greene weighs in on Daniel Murphy's decision to take paternity leave and the sportalk radio commentary, "This is where the radio hosts are missing the point. I was there to help my wife and be there for my new children, but that wasn’t the only reason. Those first few days set the groundwork for the rest of my parenting life. I was involved and will always be involved."

After 12+ years living in NYC, I now have a reason to root for the Mets. Second baseman Daniel Murphy missed Opening Day (and the next game!) to be with his wife after the birth of their child because they discussed it and felt it was the best thing for their family. NY sports talkers bashed him for missing the game, and both the Mets manager and GM came out in full support of the leave. Plus, this: "We had a really cool occasion yesterday morning, about 3 o'clock. We had our first panic session," Murphy said. "It was dark. She tried to change a diaper -- couldn't do it. I came in. It was just the three of us at 3 o'clock in the morning, all freaking out. He was the only one screaming. I wanted to. I wanted to scream and cry, but I don't think that's publicly acceptable, so I let him do it."
New York Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy on Thursday calmly deflected talk-radio criticism of his decision to miss the first two games of the season for the birth of his first child.

So glad the Murphy family  is getting the support they deserve. Can't believe anyone would question his choice to stay and support his wife and new baby.

Money is the most common stressor in America. So why aren't we teaching kids how to handle it? Time to break out the lesson plan, Pops
