A self-proclaimed Net nerd, gadget geek, and general connoisseur of off-kilter culture, Matt Safford is a freelance journalist working in the New York City area. A graduate of the first class of the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, his work has appeared in Popular Science, Smithsonian, Wired, Geek Magazine, Digital Trends, MSNBC, PC Magazine, and elsewhere in the ether.
Aside from technology and geek culture, his interests include politics, human evolution, comedy podcasts, and abrasive electronic music. Matt's Android device reports that he has trekked more than 5,000 miles through the streets around New York City. He hasn't yet grown sick of the urban scenery, but he would like to log a few hundred more miles in the Scottish Highlands.
