Hi Bobby -- the sad truth is that women still aren't treated equally in many ways. Feminism tackles numerous issues, including economic inequality and a culture of violence against women. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by women running the world, but sexism and patriarchy are still very prevalent, especially in the U.S.
I think I see what you're saying, but I respectfully disagree. In my opinion, I don't think we should ever stop fighting any sort of inequality. It's everyone keeping the notion that inequalities are a part of life that makes that true. Why not stand up against that notion? Nevertheless, I'm not trying to convince you -- you're certainly entitled to your opinion. To each his or her own!
True feminism is not about women running the world, in fact, it is about NO group of people having domination over another. It doesn't stop with just men(patriarchy). Feminism in essence is about equality for ALL and social justice for ALL and that would be impossible within a hierarchy, even one that is ruled by women. I will be teaching Women's Studies courses this fall for the first time and hope to instill this in my students! Thanks for listening and nice to "meet" you Matt. You are posting great things!
