Grampy gave Jorie a gift-certificate for an educational-toy catalog, and she ordered this; it arrived yesterday. It's a sort of successor to the 1970s Milton Bradley Big Trak, but with the ability to record and play sound clips, and an LCD to make editing your code easier. Jorie is having fun programming it.

The very simple programming language is not Turing-complete (a limited loop operator is its only control structure), but there's a visceral appeal to programming a physical robot rather than just a sprite.
