Given the "quality" of some of the teachers I've met over the years, this is a good idea.  But what irks me more than anything are the teachers who have an agenda and how they impose that upon our young people.  The students are young, ignorant and obviously very impressionable.  There should be a "Separation of Politics and School".

Major blow to Apple as one of its key patents is invalidated. The patent helped it win a 1 billion dollar judgement against Samsung !

#patentwars   #apple   #samsung   #applevssamsung   #euromaestro

The United States Patent and Trademark Office has dealt a blow to Apple in its legal battle with Samsung Electronics over smartphone patents, declaring that a patent that helped Apple win $1.05 billion in damages against Samsung in a jury trial should not have been granted.

Read the New York Times article !
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/20/technology/patent-office-rejects-apple-patent-used-against-samsung.html?_r=0

Apple is expected to appeal the patent office’s ruling, so the patent has not been invalidated yet.

The patent, No. 7,844,915, is one of six that a jury in August found that Samsung had infringed. It covers usability software that distinguishes between single-touch and multitouch gestures on a smartphone or tablet screen.

The patent is widely known as the “pinch to zoom” patent, but the software is actually narrower in scope.

Apple’s legal documents refer to it as controlling a “scroll versus gesture” feature.

What do you think ?

This is a great Mexican restaurant! I love the food quality, presentation, and portions for the price. I usually drink beer, so no comment on the mixed drinks. The beer is always very good and they are more than willing to provide a mug for a bottled drink if requested. They have a busy dinner period, so I usually try to dine in the bar area at one of the 3 high-top tables or I will sit at the bar itself. Parking can be a bit cramped when the place is really busy, but I have no other complaints. The staff all seem to genuinely care about my experience. I have eaten here as much as a couple times a week.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm and sat at the bar. No greeting at the door, no service or anyone behind the bar for at least 5 minutes. When my food arrived, I had to flag down someone to get wares. When I ordered my second beer, the bartender took off for about ten minutes before getting it. Not to mention I was already dry on the first beer for about five minutes. They were not unusually busy. Also had plenty of empty areas as well as parking.

I've been going to TGIF for years and mostly this particular location. I generally sit at the bar either by myself or with a guest. The staff are always pleasant, smiling, and attentive to my needs. I mostly go here because it is in a decent proximity to my home, offers an large menu of choices (some are 550 calorie items), large parking lot, usually not too busy to not find a bar seat, love the staff, and just about everything in between. There are many other similar dining options in the Valley View area, but I generally go here for the reasons I've mentioned. Negatives? I don't really care that they hold open the door for me, but they usually do. The menu is a bit pricey comparatively.
