Abstinence fails yet again. Unsurprisingly. If only we could have told them it would have. Oh wait.
Infection rates remained steady or increased under the abstinence only program.

+Jim Douglas, that may be true for the developed world, but regarding Africa there are studies that claim the opposite of the article. The article that spawned this link said rates of HIV soared in Uganda, whereas this article says the exact opposite, and claims it was due to changing attitudes:

Personally, I don't think we can have it both ways. That is, we can't on one hand say that humans can't help themselves when it comes to one issue (eg. our tendency to sow our wild oats) and then say we should know better when it comes to another (eg. our tendency to take by force what others have). There are plenty of "natural" activities that western society is doing it's best to socially engineer away.

Holy crap.

Suppose you have a Java app running on a bunch of autoscaled VMs, and you need to debug a rare bug. Manually ssh into each instance, restart the process under gdb, set watchpoints on all of them, sigh....no longer needed. On GCP, just use the cloud debugger, set a breakpoint, and the first time any of your VMs hits that line you get a snapshot with all local variables, stack trace, etc. Problem solved.

Interesting developments. I remember saying that Android-first was going to happen "soon" a few years back. My timing was off by a bit, but I believe it is inevitable.
Believe it or not, top of the line Android phones show 40% higher engagement than iPhones. Localytics data also shows that Android OS fragmentation is no longer a fair concern.

Having to launch 6 more applications that do memory clean up is cheating. But hey, what ever makes the analytics show in your favor (this is equally a stab at apple, as they for sure skew analytics.)

Really, its not that bad. I felt good donating. They just don't want mine because of my medical history. If you can donate, donate.
