If your son or daughter is under 21 and is facing DWI charges, you may worry how these serious accusations will affect his or her future education and career. Texas allows for deferred adjudication for a juvenile’s first DWI offense, where the conviction will be erased from their record upon turning 21, after successful completion of the terms ordered by the court. However, if your child  receives another DWI charge after the deferred adjudication, but before turning 21, both DWI charges will then appear on their record.

It is important to take these charges seriously and consult with an attorney who has your child’s future in mind. An experienced Houston defense attorney understands how to find weakness in the prosecution’s case and can fight for the most favorable outcome for your child that protects their future. #juvenileDWI   #Houston

On Thursday, the Senate State Affairs Committee will take up two gun-related bills. One would allow concealed carry at Texas college campuses and another would allow permit holders to open carry guns across the state.

During the past two legislative sessions, efforts to allow license holders to open carry have failed. However, the committee will not be speaking of the “constitutional carry” bill on Thursday, which would get rid of handgun permitting rules altogether. Governor Greg Abbott has said that he would sign a bill either with either licensed or unlicensed carry if it reaches his office. #opencarry   #constitutionalcarry  #Texas
