This is what inferiority looks like...
Back in October of last year, smartphone addicts like myself got very excited at the prospect of the TTC installing WiFi on station platforms across the system. Plans were in place to outfit Bloor-Yonge and St. George stations sometime in late 2013 as a trial run, but the project has...

And then he took us inside and made us pancakes...
On Friday, Prince used his new Twitter account to share the amazing and perfect cover art for his single, "Breakfast Can Wait." Yes, it's a picture of Dave Chappelle holding pancakes, taken from the classic 2004 Chappelle's Show sketch.

Lobster Mac and cheese was decent; lobster roll was ok but small for the price; tacos were good, but a bit quiet on flavour. Good service, fairly high energy atmosphere that was somehow a bit more divey than I would have hoped for.

We recently bought take out lunch from here. Maybe it was bad luck but the cashew nut and vegetable lunch special had an overwhelmingly rotten fish flavour making it effectively inedible. The green curry we ordered however was fine. Rather disappointing.

Highly-recommended. Among the best Italian dining experiences in the City. The meal is well thought through from end to end. Service is very helpful and informative if you need help with menu choices. The cheese and (housemade) charcuterie boards are some of the most impressive around and should not be missed. The wine selection is generous but not overwhelming with a good selection of both local and international wines, including, of course, many Italian reds and whites. The sharing plates and pastas are impressive creations, rigatoni with rabbit, tortellini in broth, pecorino sausage, all noteworthy. The vegetable sides are a must--rapini is simple yet elegant but the brussel sprouts are most impressive, roasted with anchovy vinaigrette, parmesan, and cleverly, a poached egg. With a party of five, we shared everything, including pasta which worked well and gave each an opportunity to try everything. The menu appears to be change regularly.

Finally! Another decent resto in Bloor West that isn't Dr. G or Yellow Griffin. A welcome change. Good selection of drinks, but fairly conventional stuff. Excellent gourmet sandwiches, pizzas and other mains. The vibe is a bit like an upbeat, hip supper club, except the median age is about 10-15 years older, as in a bizarre mix of "cool", middle age parents out for drinks or dinner with friends, or their teenage kids.

Only came for drinks, which were very good, and comparable overall to many of the other higher end cocktail bars in the city--Cocktail Bar, Bar Chef, etc. Service was generally friendly, warm and helpful. Menu was quite sophisticated and well thought out with a range of creative cocktails, many with obscure liquors, liqueurs and flavour additions that would impress many a mixologist. Very charming and inviting atmosphere with a warm and rich carved wood interior encapsulating guests. A key design feature which seems like it might have been better in theory than practice is that the space has no seating at all--standing room only. This could work quite well if you're at the bar or along the outside of the bar. I wasn't as lucky and found myself sharing an upright beer barrel (literally) with another couple which was just awkwardly low enough as to make it difficult to pick up and rest your drink. The standing room design also detracts somewhat from a sense of intimacy which you end up sharing more with fellow bar goers than with the company you came in with. The unstructured space caused me to feel like I was frequently getting in the way of servers or other guests. As a Spanish-styled bar and charcuterie, this may have be intended to be part of the charm, but I wasn't quite feeling it this particular evening. I would like to try it again to experiment with more of their menu options, food especially, and possibly reassess my assessment. Expect to be waitlisted most weekend nights.
