I like it. Spatial memory is very useful and would definitely help in remembering things. It's a cool idea. You'd need to be able to scrub through a timeline (since different people lived in a place at different times), and yeah, the "we don't know where they were born" problem is hard, but overall it'd be worth pursuing.

I had an idea last night. Pop Quiz In your scriptures, where on the page is John 3:16? Right page, first column, near the top.  I know right where it is.  If you read the Bible, you likely do too (though it might be in a different spot in your scriptures). ...

+Jeremy Kun I just read http://jeremykun.com/2011/06/26/teaching-mathematics-graph-theory/ -- 'twas great.

And I wanted to say that you should definitely teach high school when you "retire."  One of my best high school teachers (for Physics and Astronomy) was a "retired" professional who excelled at real teaching.  You mention wanting the "providence of the school's administration."  This teacher seemed to forcibly take it.  He didn't much care what they thought -- and it seems they actually valued him for it.

So, yes, teach high school.

On the radio this morning, a security expert was outlining the steps performed by criminals to steal credit cards.

Step 1: The criminals need to choose a Target.

That made me laugh.  But it's not like Target was inviting the attack by drawing a big red circle on its... oh... wait
