This is awesome!!!

I just pushed a big update to Web Fundamentals that includes new content, a new section that highlights our shows, a brand new Showcase section that includes case studies of great web experiences, and RSS feeds so you can stay up to date with all the new content.

New Content
+Matt Gaunt published a primer on Security with HTTPS (http://goo.gl/QCSujZ)
+Paul Lewis added a new section on Rendering Performance (http://goo.gl/g8pzJY)

Shows
You can now stay up to date with all of our shows, including #Polycasts , #HTTP203 , the Chrome Dev Summit, and Udacity courses at https://developers.google.com/web/shows/

Showcase
Curious how we built the Chrome Dev Summit site? The new Showcase section has you covered with deep technical Case Studies.  We also highlight great sites and apps with Spotlights. https://developers.google.com/web/showcase/

RSS Feeds
We've also added RSS feeds so that you can stay up to date all the time. Use your favorite feed reader to subscribe!

...yes, if mean girls wasn't created, I'm sure the api would have be named differently.

Finally, a saner way to do XHR's with window.fetch()!  The Fetch API offers a cleaner, simpler API and avoids the always fun callback hell by using promises.  It's available in Chrome 42 today, and there's already a polyfill so you can start using it today.

Get started with +Matt Gaunt's HTML5Rocks primer (http://goo.gl/Ns5lS6) and if you're new to promises, be sure to check out +Jake Archibald's great primer (http://goo.gl/Npbzlk)

Push notifications are totes coming to the web.

https://gauntface.com/blog/2014/12/15/push-notifications-service-worker
Service worker is a seriously bad ass API. But what do you do with a bad ass API? Make it totes legit with some push notifications. I promise the article is better than this intro.

+Matt Gaunt perfect! Because right now the whole "Safari push notifications" that only works on Mac and not even iPhone needs to go. 😂

#pixelpushing

And as Gangnam Style was nearing the max-int32 value and about to wrap into negatives, I was imagining the YouTube person in charge of trawling the codebase and switching everything to int64 without breaking the internet being all like...

Chrome Canary is advertising HTTP/2 support (final draft), via "h2" token: bit.ly/1O3rMVn - woot! Now's the time to test your HTTP/2 server(s).

Ha ha awesome

Left Shark turns up again! A little easter egg in the #io15  website (https://events.google.com/io2015/).  You have to start the Chrome Experiment and then follow instructions on the console.  This is why I love being a developer and hiding stuff like this in apps.

Just enabled this flag.

New favorite Chrome Canary flag: chrome://flags/#mark-non-secure-as ... non-secure! The way it should have been from the start.

Poor customer service, turned up and the hairdresser wasn't there. When she turned up she told me she couldn't do my hair due to another appointment and then the receptionist didn't sympathise and told me I should have called to ensure my appointment was still going ahead. Shocked to say the least.
