Keith has shared his time and love of fishing with my own kids on several occasions. He won't let us pay him back, but he is giving us a chance to pay it forward!

We all dislike email spam. It clogs up our inboxes, and causes good engineers to spend way too much time creatively blocking or filtering it out, while spammers creatively work to get around the blocks. In my personal life, the … Continue reading →

Keith has been catching a fish everyday with a lure since April 1, 2011. On December 26, 2013 it will be 1,000 days and the finale for his adventure. The mission has been to promote and encourage kids getting outdoors and fishing. There are many reasons why kids getting off the couch, setting down the video controller, and going fishing is a great idea.  It's an activity that can stimulate a child's brain, promotes walking and physical activity, engages them in learning about nature, allows them to see and experience the beauty of nature that God has created for us, and opens their eyes to the precious natural resources we all must be mindful to protect for future generations.

This final effort is to send Keith out with a bang!  Keith has partnered with his church, Central United Methodist Church in Waco, TX to help support this finale.  Any amount is appreciated.  Our goal is raise enough funds to provide a rod, reel, and tackle to 1,000 kids.  Kids from the Waco Parks and Recreation programs and also children of military dependants at Fort Hood will be the lucky recipients of these gifts.

Keith's story, daily pictures, and more are on www.Facebook.com/keithmillerfishing.

I got IPv6 native connections on Time Warner Cable (Austin, TX) working last night.  I can get a single IPv6 address via DHCPv6, and I can get a /64 prefix delegation via DHCPv6 as well.  The single IPv6 address is usable, routing just fine.  Addresses on the /64 delegated prefix are not being routed to me though.  TWC has a level 3 network engineer calling me back tomorrow to try to troubleshoot.

Now if only they were handing out something larger than a /64...  I'll be sure to ask.

Jasper went above and beyond to get a parade banner made for our Cub Scout Pack on relatively short notice. He got it done in time, and everyone liked it. He was able to get his legal team involved to obtain permission to use the official Boy Scouts of America logos on banners they produce, so our Pack and others from around the Austin area can get materials produced with the logos, properly licensed.
