Did MLB Set the New Standard for Social Media Listening Command Centers?

http://socialmediatoday.com/mattceni/2310196/did-mlb-set-new-standard-social-media-listening-command-centers
Great Social Media Command Centers should also look at what is going on internally, not just externally. The Social Business Command Center should be tracking internal activity alongside external conversations to provide business partners a full picture of how the company is operating.

Tech companies to work together on Internet of Things

One of the group’s goals is to draw up inter-operability standards so that the devices, sensors and networks members create can communicate with each other and the data they exchange can be secure.

The organization is to be managed by the Object Management Group, a Boston-based nonprofit trade association. The coalition is still discussing which industries could serve as test-beds for new standards.

'Internet of things' will significantly alter supply chains

Michael Burkett, managing vice president at Gartner, said: "It's important to put IoT maturity into perspective, because of the fast pace at which it is emerging, so supply chain strategists need to be looking at its potential now.

"Some IoT devices are more mature, such as commercial telematics now used in trucking fleets to improve logistics efficiency. Some, such as smart fabrics that use sensors within clothing and industrial fabrics to monitor human health or manufacturing processes, are just emerging."

Heavyweights team up on Internet of Things

As industry consortiums go, they don’t get more heavyweight than this. Giants AT&T, Cisco, GE, IBM and Intel have announce the formation of the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), a group “focused on breaking down the barriers of technology silos to support better access to big data with improved integration of the physical and digital worlds.”

“An ecosystem of companies, researchers and public agencies is emerging to help drive adoption of Industrial Internet applications, a foundational element for accelerating the Internet of Things (IoT),” said the announcement.

“The IIC is a newly formed not-for-profit group with an open membership that will take the lead in establishing interoperability across various industrial environments for a more connected world.”

I don't really like dentist offices, but I loved my visit to Hedgecock Dental. From the moment you walk in, the office staff is helpful and patient in helping you fill out all the necessary paper work. The teeth cleaning was relaxed and over before I really even noticed. As you sit in their dental chairs (?) you look out over this nature preserve and watch birds and other animals dance about - it's like getting a teeth cleaning at DisneyLand. Dr. Brandon was the dentist I saw. He was thorough in explaining what was needed to be done to keep my mouth in working order. I had cavities that needed to be addressed. I had the option of taking nitrous to relax...and I took it. After 5, 10, 20 minutes it was over and I was fine. Billing process was as easy as the teeth cleaning. I need additional work done, and I'm not going to hesitate in going back to Hedgecock Dental.
