OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2: Pro: fast, cheap, simple RAID 5. Can get this with 8T for $725!!. Con: requires matched drives, unknown support, they are not a data storage company. Comes with Barracuda drives, not WD RED drives as I would prefer.
Synology DS413: $500. Fast network device. Accepts unmatched drives. Very good reputation. $950 with 4 2T WD RED drives.
Synology DS1512+: $800. Same as above, supports extension to 15 drives. initial box supports 5.
