Introduction
I'm a tech guy. As of May 2012, I've been a professional developer for 15 years. My father had to drive me to and from my first web developer job because I was too young to get a driver's license. Writing code and making things work is not just a job, it's a passion.

I'm also into cars (I've had two cars with engines that I've personally built and installed), play 8-ball and 9-ball in APA leagues, and enjoy gardening to occasionally get my eyes off of flickering pixels.

I spent the first 30 years of my life in the Boston area, then I got tired of the cold weather and snow and moved out to California. The only thing I regret about moving to Silicon Valley from Boston is not doing it 5 years earlier.

Apparently they just found a dead guy in a conference room at Apple in Cupertino.
A male employee was found dead at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff.

"Hey guys, forget the whole court case thing to build a backdoor, we found a vulnerability in your operating system and can get access to anyone's data anyway."

...wonderful...
The Department of Justice says it may have found a way to gain access to the iPhone of Syed Farook, the terrorist in the San Bernadino shooting.

A website that finds Amazon filler items to get you to the free shipping line. I just used it to find a $0.10 same-day item as I was $0.03 short of free shipping.

What's the cheapest way to render a web page on a 4K monitor at full resolution? I'm trying to display datacenter dashboards in our engineering lab. I considered the Asus Chromebit but I don't believe it supports 4K. Is the Shield Console the best way to go or is there another way that costs less than $200?

More bandwidth over existing copper up to 500m...if this actually works, it'll be a good stop-gap technology.
Accelerate your FTTH deployment with G.fast and deliver fiber-like speeds up to 1Gbps over your existing copper infrastructure.

Can anyone tell me what the functions on the Q, W, E and R keys do? Any ideas what C/S means? This is the MagicForce 68-key that was recently on Massdrop.

After more searching I found a copy of the user manual in English. Those keys modify the polling rate, which in turn affects the repeat rate of a key. The up and down arrows on the Q change the behavior of the Esc key so you can have it default to ` instead of Escape.

As someone that interviews, hires and manages gen XYZers, I can tell you that for better or worse, this article is very accurate.
Generation XY&Z are coming at you, and while you may complain about them... they are the future of everything. There is no sense in trying to fit them into the old paradigms for education, work and life paths—it's like trying to build a sand castle under water! The problems of tomorrow are unlike anything that the Boomers, or any generation prior, have ever experienced. Technology is mobile, the world is on demand, and the socio-econo...

I took this photo at 9:30am this morning in Fremont, CA. Looks like an Acura with a sensor array attached for autonomous operation.

Sure send like someone should be designing Lidar that fits into automobile design. Rather than looking like the roof signage for the pizza delivery guy at Space Hut.

Yes, I know it's all experimental and looks don't matter right now. But still.

I still want an in-car voice control system that responds with the voice of Abathur from Starcraft.
Maybe you saw on Twitter that Donald Trump attempted to hire the voice of Duke Nukem, Jon St. John, to be the advertising voice for his campaign. Well, that may be true. Or it may have been Ted...

"Due to understaffing we had to close early" - that's what I was just told at the drive through window. Unbelievable. Great manager at this place.

Earlier today I visited Fremont Ford to look at a new Mustang. Specifically, a 2015 Mustang turbo. They were the only dealer in the bay area that had the exact car I wanted and now I'm glad they were because their sales team was an absolute pleasure to work with. My salesman Omar Omari was extremely friendly and helpful and the finance manager is an absolute magician!! I wasn't sure if I could even get financing approved for this vehicle - not only did he get me approved but I got a low interest rate with a small down payment, they took over $1000 off the sticker (without me even asking) and I was given more than the KBB value for my trade-in. I've purchased several cars in my life and this was the best buying experience I've ever had. Definitely ask if Omar is available when you arrive - I wish every car salesman was like him!

The pharmacy manager - an older Asian man - isn't very helpful and insisted on giving me the wrong prescription. If possible, I recommend going to another pharmacy.

I've worked with many automotive and motorcycle repair shops over the years and Spec-1 is one of the absolute best. Glen and his crew took my old, beat-up Honda Nighthawk 750 and made it run like new again. Not only that but they answered all my questions, patiently provided me with updates every time I called (which was almost once a day) and even fixed problems on the bike that I didn't know were there. All of this for a very reasonable price - the final bill was far lower than I expected. You can trust these guys and know that qualified and honest mechanics are working on your ride.
