For a country that is a quarter the size of the state of Tennessee, United States, Nepal boasts numerous sites designated as World Heritage Site by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). According to the UNESCO site "(T)he cultural heritage of the Kathmandu Valley is illustrated by seven groups of monuments and buildings which display the full range of historic and artistic achievements for which the Kathmandu Valley is world famous." UNESCO has designated Durbar Squares of Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu), Patan and Bhaktapur, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu and Bauddhanath and the Hindu temples of Pashupati and Changu Narayan (source UNESCO).

This article highlights how Integrity and Authenticity of these sites qualify them to be one of the sites designated by the organization as a world heritage site. 'The authenticity of the property is retained through the unique form, design, material and substance of the monuments, displaying a highly developed traditional craftsmanship and situated within a traditional urban or natural setting." These sites definitely are sites that can only be found in Kathmandu.

Let us guide you through these sites to truly experience how authentic, unique and mystical they are.
