Back to the basics to increase traffic

It seems with increasing frequency I'm reading and writing posts about complicated social media techniques to increase engagement and traffic. However it's worth regularly reminding ourselves of the basics to ensure that our social media foundation is a strong.

This is a lovely infographic by +Sushi Digital Web Design Australia which I feel portrays the basics really quite nicely. It's about increasing traffic on your company's social media channels, but these techniques also work well for your personal brand.

Great article from +Search Engine Watch discussing why your online strategy won't be successful if you silo your marketing channels.

http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2328860/Why-SEO-Cant-Reside-in-a-Silo
SEO is an incredibly effective marketing tactic, and if executed correctly, can provide great returns. However, while it drives traffic to websites and increases sales, SEO is more effective when integrated with a complete online marketing strategy.

According to a report by broadband data company Procera, 16% of all Netflix subscribers on one US cable provider watched at least one House Of Cards episode in the first 24 hours it went live. That's a massive 8 times spike from last year's season opener. Only 2% of Netflix subscribers watched a single episode on the first day last year – compare that to 3.6% who watched all of the first 5 episodes on day one this year. http://onforb.es/1oNH1VF

How to Encourage Google+ Fans to Share Your Content
Super tricks for finding who is interested in your brand and how to connect with them.

How Do You Find Your Best Fans?
"As a marketer, you want to find people who engage with your message and amplify it, spreading it on to others. These loyal fans, your brand evangelists, fall in love with your company and tell the world.

Google+ can help you find and engage with your evangelists, and lead you to a wider pool of potential clients. The process includes finding potential candidates, seeing which of those actually engage with your campaigns, and finally, those who share your campaigns with others (your true evangelists)."

Search Google+ for Potential Candidates
"To begin, you need to search for people who are talking about your brand, product, topic, etc. The first 100 people you find probably won’t all be true candidates, so you want to cast a wide net. Try to build a pool of around 200 people for your potential candidates circle.

Start by searching within Google+ for content. Use hashtags or keywords that are related to your business, brand or niche. For example, search for the hashtag #socialmedia. You can filter your search, including search options, under the More tab."

Now it's your turn, ready to boost your brand by connecting with your best potential customers or fans? Using these tips, you'll be able to build a stronger presence and connection on social media and create more meaningful marketing.

No more having a company name with a dozen descriptive keywords in Google+ Local
Google quietly announced within the Google Help forums that they have made a clarification update to their Place quality guidelines to help business owners know what they can name their business within Google Local and what they can not. In short, Google is allowing a single descriptor within the business name, if and only if […]

Story
Introduction
I have a diverse background in Marketing and IT, that has lead me to focus on my primary interest, which is ecommerce and SEO/SEM. Both elements in my opinion are the fundamental tools needed in order to achieve success in today`s business world. I completed two years of business marketing from Fanshawe College, complemented by a web design and graphic design program at the Academy of Design Toronto. These programs heightened my entrepreneurial spirit and led me to e-commerce management at Sheridan College.

I recently purchased a home in Burlington that required significant landscaping work. I wanted a professional, trustworthy and above all reliable company to work with to complete the project; I was then referred to PWLCA from a friend. After meeting and discussing what I was looking for, Aaron and his team put together a complete landscape design for the front and back yard based on some of my ideas in addition to introducing many new ideas of their own. They were very helpful from inception to completion in determining all the details needed to achieve extraordinary and beautiful results. Thank you for the great advice and work you did on this project!
