July 26 marks the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). How has this groundbreaking legislation impacted your life? For our family, it has enabled my brother +Fulutusi Mailo to live a life with dignity. He is able to access programs, services, and the community at large, which ultimately helps him along his journey towards independence. And, he is able to exercise his right to choose, to dictate what is right and best for him. I think many of us take freedom, independence, and self-determination for granted. Celebrate the ADA by pledging to uphold and protect the rights of millions.

Around the world, women still struggle for equality in basic matters like access to education, equal pay and the right to vote. But how to enlist everyone, men and women, as allies for change? Meet Elizabeth Nyamayaro, head of UN Women’s HeForShe initiative, which has created more than 2.4 billion social media conversations about a more equal world. She invites us all to join in as allies in our shared humanity.

This article is a perfect marriage of two groups I advocate for as a community volunteer: people with disabilities and women.

I'll admit my skepticism about a Glamour article on confidence. Don't knock it 'til you read it.
Mindy Kaling's secret? You have to earn that bulletproof feeling. In an excerpt from her new book, Why Not Me?, she explains.

Although our public school system is heavily flawed, we are still light years ahead of many nations that do not have the means, or outright refuse, to provide a basic education to their children. I have been in the homes of refugee families, and it is absolutely humbling and inspiring to see their children eager to learn and grateful for what little they have. Help Salt Lake City's refugee community prepare for the upcoming school year by donating much needed school supplies and backpacks.

A #millienial 's dream.
Garrett Gee is an unlikely technology entrepreneur. The 26-year old BYU student parlayed his first mobile app design into a multimillion-dollar company that has provided his young family with financial security.

You may not be with your family when a disaster strikes so it’s important to make your family communication plans now. Creating a family emergency communication plan will help keep everyone accounted for during an emergency.
