Days out from the EOFY here's another important tip from our partners at Energy Super...

Get Super Money from the Government: Did you know the Government can actually chip in up to $500 to your superannuation savings? You just need to contribute up to $1,000 extra into your super from your take-home pay and meet some eligibility criteria. It’s called the Government Co-contribution and it’s pretty handy for low-income earners keen to boost their super. For this financial year, you need to earn $36,813 or under to get the full amount. The co-contribution reduces progressively as your income rises, and cuts out completely at $51,813. Your super fund needs to receive the contribution before 30 June, so be quick. To find out more, including eligibility rules, visit the ATO website here >> bit.ly/1Mc167f

Here's an EOFY Tip from our partners at Energy Super...

Make a spouse contribution: If your spouse earns less than $40,000, you can contribute to their super and claim a tax offset. The maximum offset of $540 is available if your spouse earned less than $37,000 this financial year; it reduces for income above that amount and completely phases out when your spouse’s income reaches $40,000. Pretty handy if your spouse has taken time out of the workforce and could do with a super boost. Your super fund needs to receive the contribution before 30 June, so be quick.
