Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, was a scheduled flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing, China. On 8 March 2014, the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200ER operating the flight disappeared with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board, following its last contact with air traffic control 40 minutes after take-off.  As of today, the cause remains unknown.

Later today, entrepreneur Elon Musk of Tesla motors fame will  announce plans for a mass transit system he is calling the Hyperloop. Musk describes the mysterious Hyperloop as a “cross between Concorde, a rail gun and an air hockey table,” that will transport rider from one side of the U.S. to the other in about 45 minutes.

Author Ray Bradbury died this morning in Los Angeles at the age of 91. The author of more than 27 novels and story collections, his work spanned genres of science fiction, horror and mystery. Bradbury was most widely known for his novels “The Martian Chronicles,” Dandelion Wine," “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and his classic dystopian novel "Fahrenheit 451", first published in 1953.
