Disruptive creativity: Tourism campaigns with emotional vision

While most travel campaigns rely on stunning visuals to entice visitors to a location, disruptive thinking can allow a stand out approach. Tourism Quebec's "Blind Love", and the "Reconsider South Africa" campaigns ooze disruptive creative thinking that challenges the way other competitors in their industry are doing things. In both examples, they take ownership of the central concept being conveyed – experience travel through ALL the senses, and to challenge preconceived notions of a destination.

Check out this latest Five-Minute Marketing post, and get your creativity charged. http://fiveminutemarketing.com/2018/06/disruptive-creativity-tourism-campaigns-with-emotional-vision/

I was thrilled to have this opportunity to be interviewed on Jason Skinner's Business Made Easy Podcast out of Brisbane, Australia. Jason and I met up at Social Media Marketing World in San Diego back in February. I'm pretty humbled to also be following on the heels of Chris Brogan (Owner Media fame) and Pat Flynn (Smart Passive Income fame) interviewed in earlier episodes. We talk about "Being human at scale," building an online audience you own, and spend quite a bit of time in the second half of the episode talking about my experience using LinkedIn native video versus Facebook live video. Lots of useful and insightful content here, plus Jason is just such a charmer to chat with. Enjoy!

Video is a great way to catch the attention of viewers online. And with Facebook now favouring connection more then discovery, finding ways to maintain organic reach can be challenge. Video, and in particular live video can do that on the Facebook platform. But Facebook is not the only game in town, and after this week embroiled in ethics or user data sharing, many may be looking beyond the platform for reach. LinkedIn offers a solid alternative for those building a personal brand and expertise. I look more closely at LinkedIn native video in this blog post.

Content comes in a couple big buckets: Free and paid. Of course the ultimate goal is to earn sales from paid products, but to get to that point, there is usually a crumb trail of free stuff, which earns visibility and trust. Some folks will remain on the “forever free” content plan, and that’s totally cool, because they are likely to be strong advocates and recommend your business to others who become paying customers. This post looks at the steps in building free content, and how to ultimately lead your ideal target into becoming a paid customer. #fiveminutemarketing #marketing #media
