Window child safety strata requirements
Under successive changes to NSW strata laws beginning from 2013, all strata building windows that meet certain criteria must be fitted with safety devices or locks for limiting the opening to under 125mm. These requirements were introduced to reduce the risk of tragic occurrences of children falling from windows.

Owners corporations are responsible for ensuring compliance with these laws is met by 13th March 2018 (very soon!). If you are concerned about the safety of your windows or need assistance with inspection/installation/certification of these devices anywhere in Sydney, feel free to speak with one of our friendly expert consultants or general locksmiths.

High security lock systems
If you are concerned about the integrity of your home, office or building security, then one of the key upgrades that we recommend is restricted door lock access systems. At Martin Place Locksmiths in #Sydney , we are able to work with you through the entire process - including planning, installing and maintaining - involved with deploying such an upgrade, whether it involves just a single door or an entire building. Speak to one of our friendly #locksmiths  who can help you decide on an appropriate system for you. The two key types of systems we offer include: (a) mechanical security keys that provide pick resistance, cannot be copied without authorisation from the key signatory, and can operate according to a master key structure; and (b) wireless electronic access control systems that can be either standalone or integrated together with computer software for true 24 hour around-the-clock control.

Upgrading mailbox lock security
In recent times, there has seen a spike in mailbox theft not just in Sydney but across Australia, particularly due to the illegal availability of specific master keys online. Such master keys can readily open a significant fraction of mailboxes, which is obviously a serious concern given the prominence of identity theft and the importance of privacy. It is not surprising then that we have been consulted by many apartment strata agencies, building managers, and owners/tenants to upgrade the physical security of their mailboxes. We strongly suggest all affected stakeholders consider such upgrades, which may involve either modifying existing mail locks so that a master key will not function, or installing higher-security locks. Feel free to contact one of our locksmiths or leave us a query on our website at http://www.mplocks.com.au and we will be happy to provide a free over-the-phone consultation and provide a custom solution for your budget.
