Story
Introduction
Gen X pop culture geek with a think for the New York Yankees, New York Rangers, and Marvel Comics. My biggest interest is the toddling, blonde mop headed creature in my home named Sean. I look forward to watching all the movies and tv shows I love through his eyes for the first time again.

Poor Oregon militia members. :(
No one ever said it’s easy to take a stand against the federal government: it’s cold, there aren’t enough snacks, everyone is pissy, and a bunch of strangers won’t stop sending you hate mail and dicks.

Best quiz ever
Good grief! It’s the holidays again, which means it’s time to watch our favorite blockhead and all his friends in classic ‘Peanuts’ holiday specials. How many have you seen?

This is crazy
Scientists have shown that DNA molecules can be the basis for a long-term storage system potentially capable of holding all of the world’s digital information in a tiny space.

[American Voices]

“To be fair, 2009 was a pretty good year for pork.”
According to a report from a local ABC affiliate, a school district in Tennessee thawed out pork frozen since 2009 and served it to students, smothering it in gravy to mask its stench and “give it a better taste.” What do you think?

A clip of U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis talking about deregulation extending to restaurant bathrooms has gone, ahem, viral.

The next Elvis...
When it comes to music, you can’t get much bigger than Elvis. With over 1 billion record sales worldwide and 150 singles that are certified gold, he’s widely considered the most successful singer of all time. It may be hard to imagine that anyone will ever live up to Elvis, but there’s one spunky...

This is an Onion headline, right? I'm not sure she learned the right lesson here...

This article is proof of why our greatest export is American/Western culture. Not that we need to be cultural imperialists, but spreading our ideals, cultural elements, educational ideals, etc. will do more to stop ISIS or ignorance that taking your clothes off on a mountain can cause an earthquake than any military program.
The Westerners, whose actions were blamed for causing an earthquake, were fined about $1,300 apiece, and were set to be deported.

50 years ago in photos, it's really amazing
A half-century ago, the war in Vietnam was escalating, the space race was in full swing, the Rolling Stones were on a world tour, the bravery of those who marched to Selma led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act, and the St. Louis Arch was completed.

When asked what he sees from the stage, Bob Dylan sees this (and takes a shot at Elton John I think):

I see a guy dressed up in a suit and tie next to a guy in blue jeans. I see another guy in a sport coat next to another guy wearing a T-shirt. I see women sometimes in evening gowns, and I see punky-looking girls. I can see that there’s a difference in character, and it has nothing to do with age. I went to an Elton John show; there must have been at least three generations of people there. But they were all the same. Even the little kids. They looked just like their grandparents. It was strange. People make a fuss about how many generations follow a certain type of performer. But what does it matter if all the generations are the same?

While the food here is good, the service keeps getting worse. Everyone is nice, but the restaurant always seems understaffed. This leads to long waits and difficulty in getting any drimk refills. If you drive by and it seems at all crowded, go elsewhere or call ahead for takeout,

It's not high cuisine but they have great pizza, salads, and apps. The food is always fresh and the staff actually wants you to have a good experience.
