Working on the color grading for Ara's Tale revealed some problems in the source material. I now had to revisit the compositing for 9 shots. It was mainly being too bright areas which got clipped and lost structure.
Here is where my divided workflow now pays off in full. Doing the relighting was quick and easy (e.g. adjusting the amount of moonlight for the dress only).
The whole recompositing run took about 4 hrs for all those shots, while a full rerender would have taken 62 hrs.
