Thanks to Annamaria Lambri for inviting me to speak at the American University in Dubai this afternoon. It was a pleasure to meet the students and talk about innovation, technology, and design in hotels.

Introduction

I am interested in many things and understand an eclectic mix of business, science, and art. I know people and how to communicate with them, but I also know how to make organizations work and extract the best profits for their many stakeholders.

I create strategies and policies; I train; I copywrite; I listen. I organise things, solve problems, and give advice. I work on your or your organisation’s image; I fix perceptions (yours’, your employees’, your guests’); I bring people and projects together.

I use my brain and serious talent for communication, creativity and innovation to provide thought leadership and nurture ideas and new thinking. Alternatively, I can act as a knowledge base and provide a consultancy role on many fronts with regards to streamlining and elevating your operations.

In another time and place I would have made a great Consigliere or Grand Vizier. Today, I'm a great consultant instead. It may not have the same ring to it, but the results are much the same.

Food & service are generally good. Supposedly child friendly. Then again: Has a kids food menu, but no child-sized drinks, only one size (large). Gives out printed kids menus with space to draw on, but no pens. More consistency and common sense here would be better.
