My essay “The Forgotten Truth About the Balfour Declaration” has been translated into Arabic by a left-leaning Palestinian news website based in Gaza. In that essay, I showed that the Declaration wasn’t a unilateral British act, but enjoyed the support of Britain’s wartime allies, even before Balfour issued it. The translator calls my essay a “counter-attack” against the Palestinian effort to get an apology from Britain. While it is the work of a Zionist historian, and thus biased, it nevertheless constitutes “very important historical material” in light of the present-day contest over the Balfour Declaration. Glad to have it translated.
