On Sunday, Shalem College celebrated its very first commencement, four years after opening its doors. Highlights: the processional of faculty and students in academic regalia (rare in Israel), honors to poet Haim Gouri and philanthropist Roger Hertog, stirring speeches and musical interludes, and excited students and their families. And last but not least, a standing ovation for Daniel Polisar, founder of the college, whose drive and grit made it all possible. (I’m on the right…) Congratulations!
