Reading articles about SEO often makes my blood boil. Jargon, buzzwords and mysticism wrapped up as expertise.

It's brilliant and well done to Argos (or their policy) for allowing it :)

My thoughts on my gadget that hasn't even shipped yet

I'm happy to admit that I got caught up in a wave of excitement following the Pebble Steel announcement at CES.

"Yes. A nice looking smartwatch that seems to tick the basic boxes I'd want from some wearable tech on my wrist. I'll buy one!"

And I received my confirmation email and awaited delivery. That was seven weeks ago and my enthusiasm for this gadget is declining. From reading /r/pebble on Reddit, I feel like I'm entering a world I haven't been in for many a year.

That's the world of the "nerdy kid who didn't join the mainstream." I was the only kid in my class to have an Amiga 500 rather than a Megadrive. I feel the Pebble Steel will be a repeat of this. I'll have a Pebble, others will have a Gear or Google Smartwatch or whatever comes out in a few months.

Because of this, I feel uncertain of my tech future.

I don't like the name Google Gem. I would hope that isn't the final name for the product.

5 ways to integrate SEO and content marketing
http://www.onetoomanymornings.co.uk/5-ways-to-integrate-seo-and-content-marketing/

Whilst SEO and content marketing overlap in many areas, they are still viewed and managed by many as separate disciplines.

There are numerous benefits in ensuring that content marketing and SEO are effectively integrated as they rely on one another. Well optimised content can help improve its visbility and reach within search results, whilst unique/valuable/interesting content is more important than ever for SEO success.

+Martin Broadhurst - Many thanks, I really appreciate the endorsement and glad you enjoyed the post. I agree there's a lot of rubbish out there so I'm pleased you think I'm talking sense (you're in the minority! :-)).

If Google were to announce today that they are bringing out a smartwatch, I'm 99% certain I'd cancel my Pebble order.

Pre-ordered January 10th believing shipment would be around mid-Feb. Checking the forums suggests mine won't arrive until the end of March, beginning of April.

Yes, it is rumoured and a launch  date of June has been mentioned but it's not at all confirmed. HTC are also meant to be releasing one.

Introduction
About me

Professionally my life involves inbound marketing. I'm the digital marketing manager at Katapult marketing agency and my time is spent running inbound marketing campaigns, keeping up to date with inbound marketing news and writing inbound marketing content.

My "down time" is spent reviewing kebabs, sampling many of the UK's splendid real ales, supporting Derby County (for my sins) and watching a lot of mixed martial arts (too much, if you ask my wife)

Circle me. I really am a lovely chap.

Great bangers and mash. Seriously, they are very good. Food is cheap, portions are large and the beer is decent. Whatever you do though, have the bangers and mash. So many varieties of sausage, mash and gravy to choose from!

I'm sure Samways is a great shop if you are a hardcore cyclist who aspires to ride the Tour de France. However, if you cycle at a leisurely pace, don't wear lycra or plan to ride with your family, Samways staff seem to not want your business. I work very close to Samways (less that 2 minutes walk away) yet I would rather go to another bike shop when I have problem because whenever I have been in to the shop I have consistently found the staff to be difficult or plain rude (particularly the staff in the service shop).

The Joseph Wright gallery is really quite special and should be viewed by any visitor to the first city. I would also recommend taking your time around the 1001 object exhibit. It is worth reading about the many different items as there is some great history to discover.
