I want to commend Google and of course specifically the Google Maps team for making and sending such a nice hand written note to the community moderators, that extra touch is awesome.

Interactive ads: The future of making money on mobile games?
Very interesting article on where mobile ads are going, how to get users to see your video ad, how to get them to actually appreciate watching your ad.
With most of the mobile game audience unwilling to spend money either upfront or in in-app purchases, many developers need to run ads to find success.

The Differences: UX vs. CX
While most designers directly influence the UX, they also need to understand the larger context of the CX. The customer experience represents every step of the journey from when users are running price comparisons, to when users try the product, to when users may resort to customer service if their needs aren’t met.
User experience is not the same as customer experience.

How a biology student turned images of deadly viruses into art

We usually only pay attention to viruses when they're making us sick or ravaging large swaths of humanity. We don't often wonder at their intricate structures or admire their symmetrical beauty.

That's what makes Eleanor Lutz's homage to viruses so striking. A PhD student in biology at the University of Washington by day and graphic artist by night, Lutz was inspired to pay tribute to viruses when she realized how "surprisingly symmetrical" they are. "I love them because they remind me of a biological version of snowflakes," she writes.

I wear hats, not ties. I open doors for ladies, bully around pixels. Enjoy exercise and training, but have a devout relationship with my couch. I live to design and my job is awesome, that's it... no flip-side to it... to design is to create, to create is to be god like, can't seriously complain.
Introduction

I have become rather enveloped in the social media wave as well as the explosive tech industry that has come about in the last few years, most of my tech thoughts are published on memeburn.

Also as a side note, a Designer, Photoshop junkie, stalker of internet trends, utterly addicted to Google. Oh yeah, and in love with my iPhone

Have Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design specialising in Advertising. Now I know thats practically saying I’m good at making pretty pictures that lie to you, but I swear I’m one of the good guys… honest… no really… stop looking at me like that…

I have accumulated experience in both print and web media over the years working with and pitching to a wide range of clients from CocaCola and FNB to local fashion designers and Chamber Orchestra of Johannesburg.

In 2010 I started Mind Camp Technologies with great developer colleague Joaquim Rodrigues and we have been helping a wide, and some times weird, variety of clients with their digital needs.

Used to be great, been in Monte since the beginning and has built a good reputation, unfortunately they have seemed to coast on the reputation instead of striving to earn it. The service and and quality of food has suffered.

Very nice Mugg 'n Bean, perfect location for when they are having events in the monte casino square. Obviously this is known so get there early. Service can be a bit slow at times.

Pricy but great food and vibe. Really nice place, with VERY well trained staff. Does get very cold outside in winter though due to it's placement in the square and wind currents.
