How a biology student turned images of deadly viruses into art

We usually only pay attention to viruses when they're making us sick or ravaging large swaths of humanity. We don't often wonder at their intricate structures or admire their symmetrical beauty.

That's what makes Eleanor Lutz's homage to viruses so striking. A PhD student in biology at the University of Washington by day and graphic artist by night, Lutz was inspired to pay tribute to viruses when she realized how "surprisingly symmetrical" they are. "I love them because they remind me of a biological version of snowflakes," she writes.

I agree +Andrew Hill they have good competition. I've also tried them before and thought it wasn't worth the hype but was decent enough. I more happy about the investment from overseas for such a product.

A great video explaining the Gravitational Waves which have confirmed Einstein’s Theory
Scientists say they heard the faint chirp of two black holes colliding a billion light-years away, fulfilling Einstein’s general theory of relativity.

Frequency Separation in Photoshop
Chances are you have already learned what Frequency Separation (FS) technique is, as it became mainstream in the past few years. However, many FS technique users actually know very little theory behind it, thus have little control over its implementation. I've set out to research and collect all the important and useful information about it, so we can together learn how to become better at it.

Starbucks in South Africa!! Very trendy and beautifully designed. Already becoming a great place to sit and work on your laptop while sipping your favourite Grande. On the down side, the prices are quite steep for the South African market who already have many high quality sources of coffee.

To say it was amazing would not do this event justice. As far as a review goes: Pro's are you meet the most eclectic, phenomenally nice people and see sights beyond what you could previously fathom. Cons are the dust, it will get and be everywhere, accept the mantra "Embrace the Dust". Also read the itenary, some how missed this while focusing on the survival guide.

Utter heaven in the middle of nowhere. This quaint guest house was our stop on the way back from AfrikaBurn, it was where we felt human again. So warm and welcoming with everything you need like coffee and tea (with home made rusks) as well a deliciously warm bed.

My family loves the Mythos in Design quarter, and come by often the atmosphere is perfect, lively with people but never too loud, great for a lunch or dinner with friends and family. I especially love coming in summer with the subtle mist wafting over, keeping us cool. The food is great, especially if you like meze. I personally am victim to being in love with the Filetto Mythos, utter heaven, a bit on the pricey side but worth every cent, great for a treat. Now obviously the food is good but, it's the service that keeps us coming back. It might be just us, I unashamedly believe my family is more awesome than all others, however I'm sure in reality they treat all their customers as good friends who they've missed. The managers especially go out of their way to get to know regulars and make them feel welcome, I know of 2 waiters who know to just bring my parents favorite wine as we walk over. The down side to all this is that they are quite popular especially on weekends and becoming full, so I strongly recommend booking in advance. You can walk around the design quarter while you wait if you didn't, but who wants to do that. Okay, well at this point, it obvious I'm ever so slightly biased in my opinion of this Mythos but it's deserved believe me, go check them out.

A great Mikes Kitchen with awesome view, very good for meeting people as it's right off the high way and can't be missed. There is direct parking in the shopping centre for Mike Kitchen, just drive a bit further and turn left and you will see the ramp. The Staff are friendly and don't bother you unless you need something, the food is also good value for money. Very nice balcony however it is also their smoking section so keep that in mind.
