Watch the Total Solar Eclipse in a live broadcast from the Faroe Islands.

Start time: Friday, March 20th
1:30 AM PDT / 4:30 AM EDT / 8:30 UTC

On the early morning of March 20th from North America, the Moon will slide in front of the Sun to form, in certain special locations on Earth, a Total Solar Eclipse. Twitter users can ask questions via the hashtag #SloohEclipse

Start time: Friday, March 20th
1:30 AM PDT / 4:30 AM EDT / 8:30 UTC
Link - www.slooh.com

Slooh is sending an expedition team led by Paul Cox to the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic, in order to stream live images of this magnificent total eclipse as it happens!

The free, live, two and a half hour broadcast will be manned by Slooh Host, Eric Edelman, and Slooh Engineer and Correspondent in the Field, Paul Cox. The Slooh team will be joined by multiple special guests, including solar researcher Dr. Lucie Green and documentarian Dr. Duncan Copp. Twitter users can ask the team questions to answer live on the air via the hashtag #SloohEclipse

Says Slooh Astronomer Bob Berman, “Nothing -- and I mean absolutely nothing in nature -- is as powerful and spectacular as the totality of a solar eclipse. Sadly, they only happen every 360 years on average for any given location, which means that a very low percentage of the population has ever seen one. This time, the moon's shadow sweeps over the remote Faroe Islands of the North Atlantic. Slooh has sent a team equipped with specialized, proprietary equipment to bring this spectacle live to the rest of our planet. This event should not be missed."

Earth during a total eclipse of the sun - from the International Space Station.

Check out what the Earth looks like during a total solar eclipse.

"Friday, March 20th, 2015 the Moon will move in front of the Sun once again, casting another distorted circular shadow that, this time, will zip over part of the north Atlantic Ocean."

Earth During a Total Eclipse of the Sun | International Space Station
What does the Earth look like during a total solar eclipse? It appears dark in the region where people see the eclipse, because that's where the shadow of the Moon falls. The shadow spot actually shoots across the Earth at nearly 2,000 kilometers per hour, darkening locations in its path for only a few minutes before moving on. The featured image shows the Earth during the total solar eclipse of March 2006, as seen from the International Space Station. On Friday, March 20th, 2015 the Moon will move in front of the Sun once again, casting another distorted circular shadow that, this time, will zip over part of the north Atlantic Ocean.

+Tony Bonavera I'm not sure if NASA has a video from the ISS, but you can look for one here on NASA's solar eclipse page. Check out the links for eclipse videos: http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsystem/features/eclipse/#.VQtqqI7F-So

Which is older -- the rocks you see on the ground or the light you see from the sky? Usually it’s the rocks that are older, with their origin sentiments deposited well before light left any of the stars or nebulas you see in the sky. However, if you can see, through a telescope, a distant galaxy far across the universe -- further than Andromeda or spiral galaxy NGC 7331 (inset) -- then you are seeing light even more ancient. Featured here, the central disk of our Milky Way Galaxy arches over Toadstool hoodoos rock formations in northern Arizona, USA. The unusual Toadstool rock caps are relatively hard sandstone that wind has eroded more slowly than the softer sandstone underneath. The green bands are airglow, light emitted by the stimulated air in Earth's atmosphere. On the lower right is a time-lapse camera set up to capture the sky rotating behind the picturesque foreground scene.

Gorgeous view of Iceberg Lake in the Sierras of California.

Photograph by +Sergiy Pecherskyy  http://twowanderers.com/

Adjacent to Ediza lake is Iceberg Lake, a true gem for landscape photography. Peaks of the Minarets glow in the first rays of the rising Sun and reflect in deep cold blue waters of the lake creating an unforgettable High Sierra image. This was taken on the second morning during a recent backpacking trip to Ansel Adams wilderness. We camped at Ediza Lake, got up at 4am, and hiked up to Iceberg Lake to be in time for the sunrise. The trail was illuminated by the Moon, which made it much easier to climb the rocky path. Enjoy!
