On the cover of the South Hills section of today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. (It is scheduled to run May 22 or May 29 in the North Hills section.)
About 1.6 million children between the ages of 6 and 14 in the U.S. have a severe disability, according to the Census Bureau. As they grow, a simple task such as grocery shopping can become a formidable challenge. Parents are forced to fit their child into a shopping cart seat that is too small, have their child lie in the basket of the cart, push their child's wheelchair while pushing a cart or hire a baby sitter. It’s spring, and our clocks have sprung ahead, providing one more hour of daylight to tackle spring cleaning. But where to begin? Professional life coach and Wilkinsburg native Linda King recently published a book, "The Joy of Getting It Done," for people who are struggling with time management and organization but would like to try the do-it-yourself approach to spring cleaning.
