Such a fantastic hangout happening tomorrow!
+Jamie SCHLER and I are bringing you a panel discussion about the myths versus the realities of some well-known cuisines. Our panelists will tell us all a bit about themselves, about what (if any) preconceived notions they had about French, Italian and Portuguese cuisine and help illuminate the reality as well.

Our panelists are all smart, funny and thoughtful and passionate about food. I think it will be an entertaining, interesting and illuminating conversation, and I invite you to ask questions and share your own impressions and history with these well-known cuisines. Leave your questions in the comments here on the event page or ask them as you watch live, either here on G+ or on YouTube.

Our panelists, along with very brief biographies:
+Jamie SCHLER is a well-known food writer and blogger living in Nantes, France. She has been published many times over in well respected print and online magazines including Modern Farmer, The Art of Eating, Leite's Culinaria and Huffington Post. Jamie also writes the wonderful blog Life's a Feast and collaborates with Ilva Beretta on the gorgeous Plated Stories. Jamie will be speaking about French Cuisine.

+Domenica Marchetti was born and raised in the United States but spent summers with her family in Italy from a very young age. She is the author of the blog Domenica Cooks as well as the highly-regarded cookbooks The Glorious Soups and Stews of Italy, The Glorious Pasta of Italy and The Glorious Vegetables of Italy. Unsurprisingly, Domenica will be our resident expert on Italian food.

+David Leite runs the wonderful food empire that is Leite's Culinaria. Leite's Culinaria has won the coveted James Beard award twice. David has also won multiple food writing awards and has been published in many highly-regarded newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, Saveur and Food & Wine. David, a Portuguese citizen since 2004, is also the author of The New Portuguese Table: Exciting Flavors from Europe's Western Coast. David will be representing Portuguese cuisine.

The fantastic chef, blogger and Google + Ambassador +Chef Dennis Littley will be acting as our technical guru during our hangout, checking for questions and comments all over social media. He also brings a long history as a professionally trained chef to our panel. As a trained chef, Dennis can share his perspective own on these cuisines.

I will be moderating the panel and trying to keep what is a very broad topic on a fairly narrow track. I hope!

If you are a food enthusiast, you won't want to miss this conversation! We hope to see you during the hangout, but you always have the option of watching afterwards on YouTube.
